I really do enjoy your insight and honesty on football and all things related to it.
I laughed out loud when I read your first paragraph. As the wife of a soccer obsessed man I completely agree with keeping a sense of humor about sport. My husband's been a fan of a shockingly unlucky (his words, not mine) soccer team for over 45 years. He's never once lost his temper with me or our daughter. When asked why (after all, I can be extremely annoying when I try), he simply answered that he gets all is frustrations out at the weekly game and feels quite content for the rest of the week. For that reason only, I'm a HUGE fan of his team. ;)
I'm really looking forward to reading all your work Bruce.
Ness xNesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00012068425444490100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834636674346020262.post-36382352986798266302009-08-06T00:27:46.192-04:002009-08-06T00:27:46.192-04:00Wow, your writing conveys such a great sense of no...Wow, your writing conveys such a great sense of nostalgia. It destroyed the rivalry. But, are you already commenting on Super Bowl III? That's my next post.Bruce Coltinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12861316663245952372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7834636674346020262.post-16333783430469973292009-07-31T12:31:37.326-04:002009-07-31T12:31:37.326-04:00My hero - Broadway Joe! I watched that game and my allegiance changed from NFL to AFL. I loved the Jets and that QB.

I was so disappointed when they decided to put everyone under one gigantic NFL umbrella with NFC and AFC. I loved the rivalry of the NFL and AFL. Back then the players were real athletes, not a spoiled bunch of molly coddled drug and violence addicted wannabe superstars.

I have been a football fan since jr. high. My girlfriends never could figure it out and frankly neither could I. I just loved the sport and still do. Practice camps are under way. Yeah. Another season is just ahead.

Wonderful story. I loved it.Raehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04858158707328118375noreply@blogger.com
